PLANS FOR ELEVATED LANES AT IH-10
May 30, 2006 - Houston. Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has plans to close entrance and exit ramps and construct six elevated frontage lanes west of TC Jester at IH-10. Neighbors who live or work on the north and south side of the freeway have been told by TxDOT that there is time to work with TxDOT towards changing those plans; that is what we seek to do.
We believe that:
- Construction of elevated lanes will destroy neighborhoods adjacent to the freeway
- Elimination of exits and entrances will increase traffic volume and congestion on our local streets
- Communities deserve pertinent, accurate and timely information about transportation projects which affect them
