Your participation
in opposing the construction of elevated service roads
by the Texas Department of Transportation within the I-10
corridor East of Washington/Wescott intersection is vital!

we CONTACT YOU about Important Public
Meetings?
Notify Me!
The importance of attending
a public meeting cannot be overstated. This is the only time
TxDot is required to recognize the comments of the public.
We will notify you of the date
and location.
TxDot has not set a date for a public meeting concerning
IH-10 from Taylor Street to Washington Avenue. It is UNLIKELY
they will notify key stakeholders directly–they have
a poor record of doing so. (View more on TxDot's
project process).
Send a letter of concern
to your local and state elected officials. We ask that you
use your own words and be brief as no one likes to read several
pages in the middle of a busy workday.
Will
You Spread the Word to Your Neighbors?
Send a Link!
Word of mouth ensures
large community turnout at local civic meetings, Super-neighborhood
meetings, informational picnics and walks, and most importantly
the TxDOT public meeting.
If you've been to a
TxDOT public meeting you've seen the poor turnout. Are people
apathetic? We don't think so! No-one knows about
these meetings. If you are in neighborhoods affected by these
plans (area map), then your
yard sign is one of the best ways to let your neighbors know
what TxDOT doesn't want us to know.
We will be delivering
a petition to various elected officials who can help us to
oppose the construction of elevated and continuous feeder
(service roads) lanes by the Texas Department of Transportation
(TXDOT) within the IH-10 corridor or right-of-way East of
the Washington/Wescott intersection.
As a 100% volunteer,
grassroots organization, we need people to heat the streets
by distributing yard signs, talking to neighbors, assisting
with letter-writing, doing translation and many other things.
