KEY POINTS:
- You oppose the Texas Department of Transportation's
plans to build elevated service roads on Interstate 10 between
Washington Avenue and Patterson Street in the city
of Houston.
- You are a citizen, representative of a civic organization,
homeowner and landlord/renter, business owner in this area
with concerns regarding this project.
- Your specific concerns are the following:
- The 10-day comment period is too short.
TXDOT public involvement process fails to inform over
99% of the people affected by the project. The 10-day
public comment is unacceptable and must be at least
90 days.
- TXDOT must send letters to ALL residents
within the adjacent neighborhoods affected by the expansion
of highways and related infrastructure.
- Environmental Justice dictates that the work done
with federal funds should not discriminate against any
particular group of people.
- Current plans show no consideration for the economic
and environmental health of nearby residents.
- Thank you!
