August 04, 2006 - Mayor Bill White at the Cottage Grove Civic Club Meeting on August 3, 2006 announced to an elated crowd the contents of the Fax he had received by Gary K. Trietsch, the Regional Director of TXDOT.
Although, it appears that this is a victory for the Communities at large and the driving public, StopTxDOTNow.org will remain vigilant and cautious in its enthusiasm. We have seen this type of public statement made by TxDOT before, only to have the issue resurface at another time. So we ask the public to remain mindful of the larger issues and remain vigilant to the common purpose to seek greater interaction in the design process for all stakeholders and greater communication with affected and adjacent property owners.
We Thank Mr. Gary K. Trietsch, TxDOTs’ Regional Director, for his allowance of community Leaders and the general Public to voice their concern to those who were directly responsible for the project and look forward to greater participation in the near future for the “continuous frontage lanes” currently planned along the IH-10 Corridor inside of the 610 Loop.
Please refer back to the StopTxDOTNow.Org frequently to keep up to date with the ongoing changes and issues affecting the Communities and the Driving Public. Our work is not done and the interactions will continue.
